Lara Gallagher is a French-British artist based between London and Nice, France. Working primarily with ink and graphite, her practice explores the connections between the inner and outer worlds, the individual and the collective, and the material and immaterial.

 

Drawing on psychology, ancient philosophy, and esoteric and pagan traditions, her work explores duality and the relationship between the physical and the immaterial. Through intricate linework, repetition and the transformation of forms, she examines how bodies and structures merge, shift and evolve, exploring the boundaries between presence and absence, limitation and transcendence.

 

Moving between the spiritual and the corporeal, her work considers how seemingly separate forms remain connected, and how traces of what has disappeared continue to shape what remains. Her drawings have been exhibited in the UK and internationally, including in London, Madrid, Luxembourg and Paris.
